The Samsung Galaxy Note 8, launched in September 2017, marked a significant advancement in Samsung's phablet lineup, especially following the Note 7's discontinuation. It features a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display with a resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels, delivering vibrant and sharp visuals. The device is powered by either the Exynos 8895 or Snapdragon 835 processor, depending on the region, coupled with 6GB of RAM and storage options of 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB, all expandable via microSD. Notably, the Note 8 was Samsung's first smartphone to incorporate a dual rear camera setup, comprising two 12MP lenses (wide-angle f/1.7 and telephoto f/2.4), both equipped with optical image stabilization, enabling features like 2x optical zoom and Live Focus for portrait shots. The front houses an 8MP camera with autofocus and an f/1.7 aperture. The device includes a 3300mAh battery supporting 15W fast charging and wireless charging capabilities. The S Pen stylus offers enhanced pressure sensitivity and software features such as Screen Off Memo and Live Message. Additional features include IP68 water and dust resistance, a fingerprint scanner, iris scanner, facial recognition, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. At launch, the Note 8 ran on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and received updates up to Android 9 Pie with One UI 1.0.
